1. I am an artist and my face is my canvas I like to think of myself as an artist (don’t all of us bloggers?). I also like to exaggerate (don’t all of us bloggers?). So, naturally, I also like to think of my makeup ritual as a work of art. It’s kind of like painting. Ish. If you regularly put on makeup, you would know what I mean. 2. It gives me times to appreciate myself My makeup routine is a nice ten to twenty minute process where I get to stare at myself in the mirror and use brushes and pens to highlight my features. I have bright eyes, faint freckles, and chubby cheeks. And I wouldn’t have noticed that if not for my makeup routine. Giving myself time to stare (narcissistically) in front of the mirror is a great chance to remind myself how pretty I am. Does that sound weird? 3. I can become the standard of beauty I wasn’t very asthetically gifted when I was younger. I was a bit pudgy (in a cute way), had braces, awful acne, and very frizzy hair.
