That one time Japan was actually off its game…

Foreigners in Japan have a tendency to either freakishly love (like, obsession-level love) or vehemently hate Japan. To be fair, there are a lot of things to love about Japan (Melon Soda, Pregnancy Badges, Purikura, Takoyaki, Salty Watermelon Pepsi) and a lot of things to hate about Japan (sexism, Chikan perverts, etc).  There is a pretty solid support group of the third type of foreigner- the one who pretty much likes Japan, but we’re not the type to blog. We’re too apathetic. Japan is just another country. We don’t have that awesome fuel to fire an emotionally torrent of a blog (which is probably why I just post a lot of pictures and talk about my husband here). But I had one of the weirdest un-Japanese moments two days ago. Not bad… just weird. So Ryosuke and I met up with two friends from college downtown in Akihabara – both were flight attendants who had a layover of sorts in Tokyo for a couple days.
