Specifically, the internet is a place where one quote can be taken and broadcasted across all sorts of channels, gaining traction, outrage, and death-threats. Yes, this was a stupid and vulgar thing to post. But so are the rest of his 20K tweets (ranging from uneventful to equally offensive) and really, it was only a matter of time until something that kid (and I’m saying “kid” because this boy is a junior in high school) wrote went viral for all the wrong reasons. And let’s not, for a single minute, pretend he is the only one posting tasteless and offensive things on the internet. “Rape culture” is a real problem. He “warned” his followers that he was about to post a very distasteful picture a couple of minutes [...]
