What is tsukemen? In the simplest terms, tsukemen is ramen. Except it is so much more than just regular ramen. It is “dipping ramen.” Rather than being served together in a big bowl like ramen is, tsukemen is served with two plates. One bowl holds the noodles while the other holds the broth. With your chopsticks, you dip the noodles in the broth and then quickly eat it. For more information on how to eat Tsukemen, click here. Why I love Tsukemen: There are a bunch of reasons I love tsukemen above all other types of ramen, and while I would love to list them all out, I doubt anyone is actually interested. So I will stick to my X favorite parts about the dish. 1. Texture and taste-wise, tsukemen noodles completely different from other ramen noodles While other ramen noodles are small, thin and delicious, tsukemen noodles are thicker. Like, much thicker. 2.
