My roommate from college introduced me to TLC’s “Say Yes to the Dress” back when Ryosuke and I had only been dating for a couple of months. She was showing me her scarily extensive collection of dream wedding dress (all of them gorgeous) and was, well, sort of surprised to hear I had never actually looked at wedding dresses online before. I don’t know. The opportunity never really came up. Before getting engaged to Ryosuke, I never really thought about getting married, so naturally I never thought about weddings, venues, and wedding dresses. Instead I dreamt of pantsuits, press conferences, and long plane rides to exotic locations. It’s funny how being in love can drastically change your perspective and dreams (thought, to be completely honest, I still love pantsuits). My roommate showed me “Say Yes to the Dress” to help narrow down my preferences. “You can’t not have a dream wedding dress,” she told me.
