Japan is the land of the vending machines. That being said, a lot of the things that foreign media outlets have latched onto like used underwear machine (ewwww) or egg vending machine aren’t as prevalent as one might think. In fact, most vending machines just sell snacks and drinks – like most other developed countries. Most, but not all, vending machines sell pretty “normal” things. Why I love Fresh Vegetable Vending Machines: When my landlady told me there was a vending machine that sold vegetables near our house, I thought I must have translated wrong. I was all like “hold up, vegetables in the vending machine? I don’t understand. Can you repeat that a little slower?” So one day while Ryosuke was at work, she took me.
