Hi everyone, It’s been a long time coming, but I am pleased to announce that my Kickstarter.com (crowd funding) campaign to fund my first comic book will start in less than 12 hours (at midnight, on my birthday!) I wrote this post a couple weeks ago, talking about the decision to publish a book (and why I am self-publishing with kickstarter). A couple of newspapers and bloggers have agreed to publish a guest post, do a story about me, or publish a press release. I you are a blogger (or run a website) and are willing to do any of those three, please please please shoot me an email at Grbuchele@ursinus.edu so we can chat details :) Back to the book. How kickstarter.com works: people “pledge” to pay a certain amount. If enough people pledge and I reach my “minimum limit,” then everyone’s card gets charged, I get the money, and I can start printing off books/drawing people as characters in my comics. My kickstarter campaign is successful. If I don’t reach the “minimum limit” in the 30 day span, no one gets charged (ie, all the pledges are cancelled), I don’t get ANY money, and I sit in a corner and cry. Or [...]
