“I hate you,” Ryosuke informed me for the third time in the last twenty minutes. It’s 2:00pm and, together, we’re taking up most of the handicapped section on a Tokyo Metro train. “I know,” I replied simply (has I had the last two times). The train screeched to a stop and both of us threw an arm out to stop our new piece of furniture from rolling away. Did I mention we were lugging a 60 lb black oak and glass vanity through the subway, balanced atop a cheap orange plastic dolly? Because we were. It wasn’t one of our finer moments. The bulk of the vanity was situated on the dolly (manned by Ryosuke), while I was in charge of carrying the much lighter, 20lb black oak rimmed mirror. (most of the stuff in this picture came from Craigslist. On the right is the oak vanity we were transporting, though) It was a beautiful piece of furniture I fell in love with on Craigslist Japan, a couple of weeks earlier.
