Gift wrapping is huge in Japan. I was doing a segment for a TV show a couple weeks ago – and they took me to a professional “gift wrapping” store in Tokyo. It was an entire store with DIY goodies and different types of wrapping material (boxes, bags, paper, etc). You could bring something you bought at a different store and have it professionally gift-wrapped by the staff.
