Joking aside, Japan really DOES have a word for everything. For example, 積ん読 (tsundoku) is the word for buying a lot of books but not necessarily reading them (which I totally do, even with my kindle). Or my other favorite, irusu, is pretending to not be at home when someone knocks/rings the door bell (because you don’t feel like having an interaction with a stranger that day). Oh man. I should just write a whole post about my favorite Japanese words. Anyways, haruichiban means the strongest winds of spring (or something like that) signaling that winter is over and that spring has officially begun. The entire day we saw bikes getting knocked over by the wind, hats blowing away, and things falling/breaking. It was pretty interesting.
