[I don't write very many/any "Christian" posts because to me, religion is very personal. We live in a world of perpetual busy-ness. We’re busy in high school applying to college. We’re busy freshman year trying to adjust to college classes. We’re busy senior year trying to apply for jobs/graduate school/finding something to do so we’re not broke and living in the closet of our parent’s basement clipping coupons and working the midnight shift at Mc Donald’s to pay back college loans. We’re busy because we are taught to be busy. And we’re also taught to tell everyone about how busy we are… it’s a form of instant gratification. When you pour your heart out to whoever you can find about how busy you are, you can trade time (you pouring your heart out about how buried in work you are) for instant gratification (the person you are talking to feels obligated to tell you how awesome you are). All things considered, it is pretty awesome instant gratification. But it is also a waste of time. Maybe I’m the only one – but telling people about what I have to do only adds to the stress.
